Masks on The Wall

I was asked to take photos of some masks that were done for a fundraiser for an amazing local theater-Town Hall Theater Company in Lafayette (http://www.thtc.org/index.html). Not exactly the kind of job I do everyday, so I was a little nervous. But the masks are beautiful! There are 13 altogether, each with a different theme and colors. They're on display right now in the theater and will be available this summer on ebay. Check them out!

School Photos in the City

I just spent the last two days with my friend Nancy (pictured above), a great graphic designer in San Francisco (http://www.windesheimdesign.com/), working on a project in the schools. Nancy art-directed the shots at a preschool, elementary school, middle school and high school. It's really wonderful to work with someone who knows what they want and how to get it. We met a lot of great teachers and administrators and all the kids were a lot of fun. More to come...

Missed Opportunities

I was supposed to take pictures of Bryn's kids yesterday. Bryn and I have been friends for about 10 years and over the decade I have taken pictures periodically of her children. This is one of our first photo sessions many years ago! Somehow though, as the kids get older, and with school and after-school activities, it gets harder and harder to schedule a time for photos. We have been making plans to get together for about 6 months. I think I broke off our last get-together. I don't even remember why anymore. But we were ready for our shoot yesterday. It was a weekend. No school. No swim meet. No baseball. No taekwondo. Perfect! Well, not really...I got an email from Bryn that she sent at 4:30 a.m. Catherine (the youngest) had been throwing up for hours.
She sent her email minutes after Catherine's projectile vomiting just missed her face. Bryn really wasn't interested in having lasting memories of that night. So we're rescheduling, again...

What I've never understood, even after having three of my own, is why do kids get sick in the middle of the night? Things are always worse in the dark AND there is never anything good on TV.

Cole

Cole was a lot of fun! There was no way he was going to sit to get his photo taken. He was definitely a man on a mission!!

Well I've finally decided to try my hand at blogging. I figured that I could combine it with my love of photography! My favorite subject? Kids! Please let me know what you think. I'm always looking for input. Thanks
